WEi is a boy group from South Korea that has been debut on October 5th 2020 with album called IDENTITY: First Sight.
Beneath Oui Entertainment, WEi consist of six members, Jang Dae Hyeon, Kim Dong Han, Yoo Yong Ha, Kim Yo Han, Kang Seok Hwa, and Kim Jun Seo.
On Wednesday (24/2/2021), WEi does a comeback by realising an album entitled IDENTITIY: Challenge.
Fortunately, GridKids got a chance to do exclusive interview with WEi.
WEi shared their story about debut during pandemic, things that inspired them the most, and many more.
WEi also give messages to Indonesian RUi (fandom of WEi).

Hi, WEi! How optimistic do you feel about 2021? And if you describe 2021 in one word for you, what would it be?
(WEi) We have faith that COVID-19 will end and we will be able to perform at concerts with fans overseas.
(JANG DAE HYEON) There is no middle.
(KIM DONG HAN) I hope 2021 is WEi’s year.
(YOO YONG HA) WEi’s year!
(KIM YO HAN) Hope that COVID-19 will end.
(KANG SEOK HWA) The year WEi will be able to spread as much as we desire.
(KIM JUN SEO) 2021 is the year we will be able to promote WEi more and grow. It’s a positive year, and to express it in one word, I would choose “flower.”

How does it feel to have a debut during COVID-19 pandemic? Was that difficult to prepare all the preparations due to limitations?
(JANG DAE HYEON) It was disappointing that we couldn’t see RUi. Of course, it would have been better if we could get strength from fans in person, but I still worked hard for the fans who supported us online.
(KIM DONG HAN) I’m sad we can’t meet RUi in person.
(YOO YONG HA])I prepared happily with hopes of meeting RUi quickly.
(KIM YO HAN) I’m disappointed we couldn’t hold our showcase with RUi.
(KANG SEOK HWA) We weren’t able to meet fans in person or visit RUi who are overseas because we debuted when COVID-19 was in full swing. There were also a lot of difficulties because we had to always live while wearing masks.
(KIM JUN SEO) I think the most disappointing thing was not being able to perform in front of RUi. I missed RUi in the audience.
